Hotel San Lorenzo

A lucky find. It’s quiet, comfortable, and has a familiar feel.

I was surprised by how good the food was at Il San Lorenzo, which Google lists only as a hotel. The fried gnocchi were excellent, and they were generous with the cured meats. The local pisarei e faso were delicious too, as was Santo Stefano melted cheese, a real treat. Save room for dessert, they were top quality as well. It’s a place where tradition and quality come together. I’d recommend it for a stay, or for a memorable lunch or dinner.

The food is a real highlight, varied, generous portions, and delicious. The rooms are clean, dogs are welcome, and the staff were very friendly and helpful even in the low season. It’s also a great location if you’re looking to go trekking or hiking.

I had a VERY GOOD lunch when I first visited this restaurant during the traditional transhumance on October 26, 2025. One waitress, whose name I don’t know, was rude to me over something trivial. I tried to clear it up right away, but she responded in a superficial, arrogant way. I understand that a packed restaurant on a busy event day can make people tense. I may be just one customer, but customers should still be treated with respect and courtesy, since they’re a source of income.
