Our stay at Casale Cardini was frightening and deeply uncomfortable, especially for us as women traveling alone. The owner repeatedly unlocked the room door and came in without asking, sometimes while we were sleeping or resting. He said he was checking things like the air conditioning, even though we hadn’t asked for help. That disregard for privacy and safety is unacceptable. At checkout, we were asked to pay €250 without what we considered a legitimate reason. After reading other reviews, it seemed this might be a recurring scam. We refused and had to call Fabio, then use the establishment’s own website to support our case. Other guests may not be ready to push back. The facilities also fell short for the price. The duvets had no covers or sheets, the pool was closed despite being advertised, and we were turned away from breakfast at 9:45 AM even though service supposedly ran until 10 AM. The owner was rude throughout and showed no respect for personal boundaries. His aggressive manner made the whole stay feel uncomfortable. This was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. Between the safety issues, the attempted charge, and the basic facility problems, I wouldn’t consider it suitable for travelers. Other reviews describing similar payment demands are a warning. Keep your money and book somewhere else. Your safety and peace of mind matter more than any savings here.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The owners came into our room several times a day without permission, and the bedding was used and unclean. They also demanded cash for different extra reasons. It felt like we were being watched nearly all day, which was especially unsettling for the women in our group. The older man working there would unlock the door and walk right in, or sometimes just loiter outside the rooms. It sounds ridiculous, but that’s what happened.

We had a nice room with an en-suite single-bed area and a spacious bathroom. The woman who helped us check in was very helpful, and the garden is beautiful, with a pool too. I’d recommend it to anyone!

We stayed for two nights with our family of 13 and wished we could have stayed longer. The property is a 1600s farmhouse turned into quaint hotel rooms and family suites, with lovely grounds and a peaceful, refreshing pool. After a week touring Venice and Rome, it was just what we needed, and it really gave us that Tuscan feel. The views are amazing, including from the breakfast room. They offer complimentary breakfast each morning overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Nicola and Mariangelo, the keepers, were friendly and helpful. Nicola brought drinks to us by the pool and suggested a very good local restaurant. Siena and the wineries in Montepulciano are a short drive away. If we come back to Tuscany, we’ll stay here again.
