Villa Delle Acacie

The setting and views were lovely, and the pool was nice, cleaned every day, though shallow, perhaps because of the jets. Still, we wouldn't return. The house is very dated, and getting there means taking one of two short gravel roads, both steep, though one is easier than the other wasn't specified. The website photos were also very out of date. Hygiene was a major problem. The broken dishwasher left greasy, dirty kitchenware, and the ground floor wasn't clean. We reported this right away on arrival. The owner came over, and the cleaner spent two hours washing and tidying, which should have been done before we arrived. The upstairs was clean. The washing machines were dirty and kept in a cluttered room. There were no mosquito screens, the garden wasn't fenced, the beds were old, the upstairs shower barely worked, and the living room seating was dated. The house is remote and surrounded by nature, so there were lots of insects, spiders, and even small scorpions inside. We were eventually offered dinner and €300 compensation. The owner and rental company said they'd never had this happen before...?! 🤔🤥🥱 The beautiful surroundings couldn't make up for the poor start and the lack of cleanliness. Hygiene matters.
