As a pilgrim, I had to leave my route because I couldn't find another place to stay, and I'm so glad I did. The apartment and hosts were five star, with everything I needed and more, in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. It's just a hopscotch from the center, uphill. When I arrived, I was offered a generous amount of local food at no extra cost. The host even offered to drive me back to the route, but pilgrims walk! My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer.

We were there from July 3rd to 10th and are already planning to return for a weekend in August! Emanuela was kind, professional, and always ready to help with whatever we needed. The room was comfortable, beautiful, clean, and well kept. It's a quiet spot, just a 2-minute walk from the center of Sarzana, and a handy base for exploring Liguria and Tuscany. The apartment is quiet and fairly secluded, while still close to the center if you like walking. The owner is kind and helpful. The renovation felt rather rough, more suited to a work stay than a couple's weekend, and the price seemed a bit high for the apartment. It could be improved!

We found a deal at "La Calcandola" during an impromptu weekend trip to Liguria in early August, after reaching the coast and desperately looking for affordable accommodation. Emanuela was immediately kind and helpful when we called, and welcomed us warmly even though it was late. The room was spotless, looked even better than the photos, and made us feel at home. In the morning, Emanuela brought us coffee and shared tips about the area. If you've got your own transport, it's a great way to get around. Unbeatable value for money. I'd recommend it to friends and hope to come back. Great Manu!

The hosts were genuinely friendly, kind, and helpful, and the garden is lovely. We stayed in an apartment that was tastefully furnished, comfortable, and convenient. It feels like a peaceful oasis, just a short way from the city center. I highly recommend it.
