Casali Romei - Apartments

The apartment had a kitchen, which we really appreciated, and the staff were helpful. When we had an issue with the air conditioning, they sorted it out quickly. The property is in a quiet area and has a lovely, well-kept pool. Shopping centers and other amenities are only a few kilometers away. The main building with the pool is separate from the secondary building where the other apartments are, so getting between them takes some travel. The road to the property is unpaved. Overall, our stay at the B&B was pleasant enough, though a few things could be improved.

The pool and the staff were the bright spots for us. Beyond that, the place feels neglected: the rooms are old, the walls need work inside and out, and the surrounding greenery isn't maintained well. Getting there means taking a narrow, bumpy road. There's a lot of potential here, but it needs major renovation and better upkeep. We found it a little expensive for what it offers.

We found the staff helpful and friendly, and the shared garden outside our apartment was nicely kept, with tables, chairs, and loungers. Since the garden is shared, though, it won't suit anyone looking for privacy. The farmhouse is a quiet countryside spot, but you'll want a car to get to central Sarzana, and the access road is narrow and full of potholes. Our apartment was spacious enough for four people and a medium-sized dog. It had a kitchen, a sofa bed, a four-poster bed, and a bathroom. The farmhouse we stayed in, one of two, could do with some updating to the wall plaster, room layout, and general cleanliness. The sofa bed is also awkward: once opened, it's almost impossible to get through the doors. Still, a good place to unwind.

Shameful across the board. I only added a star because the review wouldn't publish without one. This place should close out of respect for people who don't know what they're getting into. It deserves nothing.
