Iacovino Country House

A place to unwind.

We stayed here with my daughter during the first week of August. The setting is excellent for getting to the beach and places like Lerici, Tellaro, the archaeological site of Luni, Pontremoli, and Fosdinovo. The farmhouse sits out in the countryside, with flowers and greenery that are well cared for. Our double room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, table and chairs, a refrigerator, and other handy small appliances. On the first day they gave us a generous breakfast that lasted us for the whole stay, though the items were packaged and not farm-produced. We enjoyed the stone saltwater pool with its hydromassage areas. Unfortunately, young guests were constantly noisy and intrusive, so the pool never felt peaceful during our stay. The managers were there and available, and we told them about it, but our complaints didn't do much good. Parents are responsible for their minor children's behavior and should supervise them so everyone can enjoy being there and have some peace. It's a real shame. Written pool rules, with guests asked to follow them or lose pool access, would be a good idea.

We thought it was a lovely place where you could really relax. The problem for us was two women on holiday there who didn't seem to understand that children run around and make noise. They were kids, after all, and it wasn't a retirement home. It bothered us, but the landlord dealt with it straight away.

The owners were always friendly and helpful, and the stone pool is wonderful. We stayed in the farmhouse studio, surrounded by greenery, and had a quiet, relaxing holiday. The closest beach is a 10-minute drive away. Lerici and the Tuscan coast are also a short drive, and it's a good base for exploring if you like mountains or little villages.
