So relaxing and amazing.

The soundproofing surprised me. Even with the highway and train station nearby, I slept really well. The place was spotless, and I think it’s the best B&B I’ve stayed at. I skipped breakfast since I don’t eat it, so I can’t say how it was. Service was excellent. The entrance is a little tight if you don’t have a small car, but we got through fine.

We left after just one night, though we’d planned to stay more than 10 days. I’ve stayed in plenty of B&Bs and never had an experience like this. We chose this place partly because the reviews and photos showed such a wonderful breakfast, and there isn’t even a bar within 2 km. I’m recovering from open-heart surgery and can’t walk miles on an empty stomach. The owner had offered us a discount because of the length of our stay, but when I asked why there was no breakfast in the morning, she rudely said that since she’d given us a discount, we should have known. I explained that the discount was for staying longer and that she should have told us it was a bed and breakfast without breakfast. I offered to pay full price if breakfast could be provided. She refused, saying again that she wasn’t serving breakfast because she was going on vacation soon and didn’t feel like making it. We paid the full price for the night without breakfast and left. It’s a nice place, but it’s out of the way, and the owner was rude and inappropriate.

The breakfast alone was fantastic, with cakes, pancakes, tarts and other treats made by the owners’ relative, who became our aunt while we were there. She was endlessly helpful and kind. Mr. Carlo and his wife were just as welcoming, and he gave us detailed suggestions for places to see nearby. The rooms and all the indoor and outdoor spaces were spacious and clean. It’s peaceful, yet only a short walk from the center of Sarzana. We felt looked after like family, more than we ever have before. We’d give it 1,000 stars if we could, even though 5 is the maximum. Thanks so much, you were fantastic 💓 We’d recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing few days in Sarzana and the surrounding area. We left feeling nostalgic already. Fabiana and Umberto
