The pool was a major part of what was advertised, but when we arrived it was green, filthy, and looked as though it had been neglected for years or abandoned. There was no parking space allocated to us either. The property itself felt run-down and partly abandoned, and nobody had warned us in advance that the pool was unusable. When I asked basic questions, the host came across as laid-back, passive-aggressive, and disorganized rather than helpful or professional. The stay didn’t match the Airbnb listing and felt seriously misrepresented. Afterwards, the host left me a negative Airbnb review and called me “difficult” for asking two questions: whether there was an espresso machine and compatible pods, since I was at the supermarket deciding what coffee to buy, and whether BBQ utensils were available as the listing said. I cleaned the apartment, followed checkout instructions, and sorted the garbage as requested. It seemed the host expected extra cleaning for the next guest, but that hadn’t been clearly explained. Those expectations weren’t what I’d normally expect from an Airbnb stay. I contacted Airbnb customer service and received a partial refund.

We came hoping to relax, but ended up dealing with constant frustration and poor conditions. The apartment was old and uncomfortable, and looked much worse than the photos. The pool was listed as open, yet it was closed, dirty, and completely unusable. Communication with the host was difficult, and the rules felt excessively strict. Even though we treated the property respectfully and left it tidy, the host still gave us a negative review. One of the most misleading places we’ve stayed in Tuscany. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were so kind when we unexpectedly brought more friends than we’d booked for. They managed to find a room for the two extra people, despite the chaos. The rooms are lovely, and the welcome was warm. We also enjoyed having breakfast outside in the morning sunshine. Thanks for a really nice stay :)

The host was easy to reach whenever we needed anything, and the pool, just 15 meters away, was cleaned every day. We had complete privacy, with two lovely gardens and terraces to enjoy. One of the best places we’ve stayed on holiday. We loved it and would happily return.

We spent eight nights in the “cypress” room at Locanda Degli Alberi and had a great holiday. There’s a large bedroom, a kitchen with a dining area, and a bathroom, so we had everything we needed. The house sits among lots of trees, and the view is beautiful in both rain and sunshine. The pool was closed because of the weather, though it looked lovely. It’s very quiet apart from animal sounds at night. Whenever we had a question, a quick WhatsApp message brought a prompt and helpful reply. We recommend coming by car. Thank you for a wonderful stay 💕
