I can't say whether the accommodations were good because we never found them. We booked two days ahead, so there was time to explain that the house can't be seen from the road, has no signs, and is reached by a drive behind a locked gate. Instead, I spent the day trying to reach the host, with no luck. We arrived in the area around 2:30, after messaging since before noon, and then spent an hour and a half driving back and forth along the narrow 4.5km mountain road, buzzing gates, searching for signs, and sending messages. Air B&B directions take you to a cemetery. The address is supposed to be #30, but there are two gates marked #30 on the road, and neither lets you in. When it got dark, we gave up and found the nearest hotel. I was cancelling the Air B&B booking we couldn't use after booking somewhere else when the host finally got in touch, saying he was home and asking where we were. His check-in hours are listed as 2 to 5pm, and it was almost 5. I explained what had happened and said I'd leave a good review if he refunded us. He refused, saying it was too late, he'd gone to the trouble of preparing for us, and it was 'unfair' to ask. He said he hadn't replied because his internet was down, and sometimes that just happens in his great country. I don't know what that was about, but the whole thing left me completely blown away by all the BS. If you stay here, I hope you have better luck than I did.

Paola and Franca prepared breakfast with care, and they were always kind and helpful. The B&B is easy to reach and close to Bologna, despite what Gmaps might suggest, it takes less than half an hour to get there. Our room was spacious and clean, with a fully equipped bathroom. The place is new, surrounded by greenery and quiet. We came in the wrong season to enjoy the lovely garden around the house, but I can imagine it would be wonderful in summer. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely two-night stay at B&B Amarcord, surrounded by greenery. The view from the room was panoramic, the bed was very comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were spotless and comfortable. Paola and Franca greeted us with bright smiles, and we felt at home straight away. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, especially Paola's homemade cakes. It felt like real Romagna hospitality. Thanks again for the warm welcome, I hope to come back soon.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, breakfast was very good, and the hosts were welcoming and wonderfully helpful. It's a calm place in the middle of nature. From Sasso Marconi, Bologna's historic center is about 20 minutes by car or train. The city bus 92A takes around an hour; it leaves from Piazza XX Settembre, a short walk from Bologna train station. Get off at Pontecchio Scuole, near Via Montechiaro, and the old village of Colle Ameno is a little farther along.
