Hotel Il Casale Verde

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this felt necessary. I can't speak to the property itself since I never got to stay there. I do want to describe what I felt was inappropriate behavior from the owner. I booked one night through Booking.com a month and a half ahead for a local event. Right afterward, I messaged through the platform to say I would be bringing two small dogs and ask whether there was an extra charge. I got no reply. A week before arrival, I called to confirm. The owner was worried about the dogs because there were two, though they are elderly and used to traveling, and she thought they might disturb guests at night. After asking me at length about their behavior, she accepted the booking. Then, three days before we were due to leave, she called back and said the property was "full" and she'd rather be safe, asking me to cancel. Other guests can apparently rest undisturbed, but the lack of transparency and what felt like discriminatory treatment earned another negative review.

Our three days that should have been relaxing were ruined. The rooms were cold, and the hot water ran out fast, turning cold before we could finish showering. The breakfast room was cold too, so on our last morning we had to go out for breakfast even though it was included. The blackout curtains were broken and couldn't be raised, and the towel rack was broken as well. I absolutely don't recommend this place.

The rooms were spacious and clean, the location was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. Recommended.

We just got back from this little green oasis in Sassuolo. The owners were so kind and helpful, and really looked after our family. Our rooms were spotless and roomy, and breakfast was incredibly generous. We even won the tournament! Highly recommended.
