Hotel Holiday Debili

The food was good quality, and the staff kept the place clean, even taking pictures off the lounge walls to wipe away the dust. It's close to the lifts, though the walk is uphill. Nights can be a little noisy because it's near the bars and other places.

The meals were the highlight for us. Breakfast had hot options, plenty of cheese, meat, pastries and fruit, plus machines for hot and cold drinks. Dinner was served in three courses, with a salad buffet available while you waited. You chose the first night's meal at check-in, then picked the following evening's dinner over dinner the night before. First course was pasta with meat or vegetables, or soup; then meat, fish or a vegetarian option; and a choice of two desserts or ice cream. Drinks weren't included. For New Year's Eve, there was a special gala buffet to start, with delicious meat and seafood, then a bit of everything instead of choosing each course. A small glass of prosecco was included at the end. Dinner starting at 7:30 felt a little late with children. They ate the same choices as adults, which suited us, though it might not suit everyone. 7 would have worked better. We had a really enjoyable holiday in Sauze, and the Debili was a great place to stay. Amin, our main waiter, was so friendly and there every breakfast and dinner. All the staff were welcoming and hospitable. We'd return to Sauze, hopefully when more runs are open, and stay at the Debili again. The hotel is a few minutes' steep uphill walk from the Clotes lift, with bars, restaurants and shops right nearby. Our rooms were comfortable and had what we needed, though a little tired. We asked for quiet rooms and got a twin and a double next to each other for us and our daughters. Some friends staying with us heard plenty of noise from people leaving the lively bars and recycling around 3 a.m. from their rooms at the front. There's plenty of ski storage space in the basement. Drinks at the hotel bar were reasonably priced and came with complimentary snacks, and there's a mini-market right across the road for essentials.

We had a great family skiing holiday and thought this was fantastic value. The staff and owner really make the place, they couldn't do enough for us, and the food was amazing. The location is excellent for the ski lifts and ski hire. Our two rooms shared a bathroom, which worked perfectly. The rooms were warm, spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the windows kept out the noise from the nearby bars. 10/10.

Really good breakfast and a three-course dinner.
