B&B Domus Pompei

The host was absent when we arrived, so our keys were left in an envelope on the gate. For the entire week, our needs and complaints, especially about the washing machine and the electricity, were ignored and brushed off with a simple “Oh well.” It made an already stressful stay worse. We were there on vacation for eight days, but the apartment felt unwelcoming. The water gave us electric shocks, and we had to wash with the water meter switched off. The toilet had no basin. The washing machine, listed as a service, was broken and left out on the balcony. The microwave was listed too, but was missing altogether. We had booked for four and found only two teaspoons and one cup. There were no tablecloths or dishcloth, and the spatula was broken, with dust collected on one side. The kettle was dirty and had a German plug connected to the outlet without an adapter, which seemed an electrical hazard.

Mrs. Nunzia's warmth, helpfulness, and smile were a lovely bonus. The apartment itself is small, modern, and immaculately clean, with a large terrace, private indoor parking, and all the comforts we needed. It's a great base for visiting the Vesuvian area, especially the Sanctuary of Pompeii, though having a car is necessary. There is a flight of stairs to reach it and no elevator, so it isn't suitable for wheelchair users. Simply fabulous.

Parking comes with this well-kept, nicely furnished two-room apartment, and the price is excellent for what you get. It has the essentials covered, including a washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, iron, and oven. The one downside is the external staircase, though it's well built.
