Hotel Pompei

The staff were accommodating and helpful, sharing information about places to visit and transport. Wi-Fi stayed stable during our four-night B&B stay. There's a large supermarket across the main road, and bars and restaurants are within a reasonable walk. The quiet pool area has loungers and tables, plus a bar with fairly priced drinks and a fridge full of Magnum ice lollies. Local people can also pay to use the facilities. We stayed in room 1, at the side of this family-run hotel. It had no view like the one advertised, but it was a good size, with plenty of storage, a small fridge, Italian TV channels, air conditioning, and a little enclosed outdoor seating area. Watch out for biting insects there. The white bedding was lovely and clean, though the mattress wasn't comfortable for me and I woke with backache most mornings. The room service attended to the bed and bathroom each day. The bathroom and shower were adequate, with plenty of hot water and fresh white towels. Breakfast was a fresh buffet with plenty of cold choices, cereal, drinks, and pastries. My main complaints were the taxi drivers in Pompeii who charged too much and didn't use their meters, and the generally dirty streets, with piles of rubbish and food waste left on the pavements. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Getting to the ruins took longer than I expected. There's a bus stop right outside, but the buses weren't very frequent, and maybe I should have asked reception for a timetable. I stayed at this cozy little hotel during my visit to Pompeii. It was clean and comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff and a nice pool area that I didn't get a chance to use. Breakfast was fine, the usual Italian mix of cereal, fruit, juice, cornetto, coffee, scrambled eggs, and bread.

A small, family-run place with really helpful staff, tasty breakfast, and a great pool. The value is excellent. We had a front room and it wasn't noisy at night, thanks to the doors and other features.

The location makes it easy to get around Italy, and there's parking on site. The pool area gets plenty of sun, the rooms are very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely hotel.
