Pompei Garden House

Our group had a brilliant week at Pompeii House. There were 19 of us, adults and kids from seven families, and the arrangements had all been thought through before we arrived. The grounds were kept up nicely, the pool was clean, and the guest house felt spacious and spotless. The bedroom upstairs is roomy too, with a Jacuzzi and a view of Mount Vesuvius. Guglielmo made the stay work so well. He helped set up a private Naples tour with his son, who showed us some hidden parts of the city, and he arranged outings to Positano, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Ravello, Amalfi, a mozzarella factory, and Paestum. Mattiah was our guide in Pompeii, and his knowledge of Roman life and civilisation was impressive. We even had him join us for dinner and talk about it. There was plenty of good food as well: an Italian cook came to prepare lunch or dinner using groceries we bought, fresh pastries and Italian coffee arrived for breakfast, and we had a barbecue with table service, lots of food, and top-quality meat. Another night, a local pizza maker used the traditional wood-fired oven. I'd give Guglielmo's house and service five stars. If you're visiting Naples or the area, his advice is well worth following. Thanks for having us, Guglielmo. I'm already planning to return with family and friends next year.

It's a lovely place, but there were ants everywhere, including the bathroom.
