B&B Lavinium

You get great value here, and I couldn't find anything to complain about. Breakfast is at the best café in the area since Covid means it can't be served on-site. The old town setting is lovely, with gorgeous upstairs terraces, a stunning view, and a nice sea breeze. The beds were comfortable, the owner friendly, the air conditioning worked, and the shower was generous. It's a beautiful B&B in the heart of Scalea's old town, reached by a charming staircase.

The room itself was nice, but it was dirty and stayed that way for my whole stay, even after I reported it on the first day. The walls were damp and stained from leaking air conditioning. The property is in a very run-down, damp, poorly maintained historic center. There was also a mix-up at the start: I was given keys to a room that other people were already using. I later found that the same key opened all the other rooms. I stayed here in August, and the experience wasn't positive.

Antonio, the owner, was friendly, sociable, caring, and always willing to help. Our room had a gorgeous view of the sea, and everything was neat and clean. A romantic, cozy hotel in the old town.

I had a single room that looked as if it had been carved out of the rock, really enchanting and perfect for a family with a child. For a seaside stay, the location is excellent: the beach is less than 100 meters away, down about 80 steps. Going down is easy, though the climb back up is a bit steep.
