San Matteo Palace Hotel

The rooms were nice, but there was no restaurant or bar lounge open where we could relax in the evening. The staff didn’t seem very bothered.

They welcomed us so warmly, and the large room was lovely, very clean, and had everything we needed for our two dogs. They recommended a restaurant for the evening when we asked, and arranged a customer discount at Lido Carnevale beach. I’m sorry to be leaving without getting to thank them properly for their kindness. Thank you so much! 🥰🙏

We had the bad luck of staying at this B&B on June 1, 2025, though fortunately it was only one night. The managers weren’t present and didn’t respect the check-in times listed on Booking.com, instead giving us time limits. They called to say they could wait only until a certain time, so we said we’d arrive in 15 minutes. We were at the beach. But when we got there, nobody was at the B&B. We waited an hour and they didn’t answer our many calls. The manager then said he’d been in traffic, even though on the phone he’d said he was at the B&B. Another couple had the same experience, and had to leave the beach the day before because they were told to check in after 3 PM and the managers would be leaving. Breakfast was what they call “low-quality” products. There weren’t even tea or coffee cups, and there was exactly one pod per person. Basically, they list the place on Booking.com, ask for payment in advance, then behave badly. Our room was 103.

The location is handy, just steps from the avenue of shops, restaurants, and bars, and 300 meters from the sea. I stayed at this lovely property with my family and we received a special, friendly welcome. The room was clean and tidy, and I especially appreciated the lovely jacuzzi in the bathroom, which I really needed. I highly recommend staying here.
