Hotel Marzia

There's a continental breakfast available for an extra 10€ per person, with yoghurt, cold cuts and a selection of fresh pastries. The bar also serves tea and coffee if you ask. The hotel's right in front of a bus stop, making it easy to get to the city centre. Staff were kind and ready to help with any needs, and the room and toilet were both clean, tidy and comfortable. A lovely hotel, especially comfortable for its location.

My wife and I got to Hotel Marzia in Florence at 11pm on 12 September 2025 after a long trip, carrying three large bags. The hotel was locked and there was no staff on site. Its listing said reception was open 24 hours, but we found the hotel closes at 8pm. We repeatedly called the emergency number for 15 minutes. When my wife finally reached someone, he shouted, “You are late, get out.” I called again and was rudely told we wouldn't be checked in and had to leave. We were left outside close to midnight without a toilet, help or information. Another guest got us into the lobby, but the owner still wouldn't help. It took us nearly two hours to find another hotel, and we paid almost €50 for a late-night taxi. Agoda refunded two nights, but we still had one non-refundable night and stayed there. On another day, a receptionist admitted that the owner had refused us entry. The treatment felt shocking, humiliating and unacceptable. I've never had such a rude and negligent experience at a hotel. Be aware that this isn't a 24-hour reception, and arriving after 8pm could leave you locked out and stranded. I strongly advise against staying here. In reply to the owners' response: 1. I posted a screenshot showing your hotel advertised as having a 24-hour front desk. Check it before calling me a liar. 2. Limiting reception to certain hours is unprofessional. 3. I'm your customer. Check your records. 4. I got a refund for the first two nights because you were at fault. Agoda agrees. 5. Remove “Hotel” from the name and call this a private bed and breakfast. 6. Learn to treat people, especially tourists, politely. You're a disgrace to the wonderful Italians we met. If you can't do that, you're not suited to working in hospitality.

The rooms were very clean, and the bald guy at reception was super friendly and helpful.

A calm, really nice hotel where the staff were lovely to us throughout our stay. Breakfast had loads of different options, and the beds were some of the best I've slept in at a hotel. Our room was clean and really nice, and they left free water in the mini fridge every day. Public transport takes about 30 minutes to the city centre. The buses could be better, though buses and trams are quite cheap. It's a really nice place to stay!
