The staff were the one real bright spot: welcoming, friendly and apologetic, and they changed our room promptly and kindly when we pointed out we'd booked a matrimonial room but were first given one adapted for disabled guests. The corridors had a bleak, clinical feel, like a former psychiatric facility quickly turned into a hotel. The online photos don't match what we found. The hotel is outdated, poorly maintained and lacks the charm and quality they suggest. Cleanliness also wasn't up to the standard I'd expect for this category. Breakfast was disappointing too, with very little variety and coffee that tasted like brown water. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The staff's warmth can't make up for all the shortcomings.

We had live music one evening, which was really nice. The pool was very clean and had good sunbeds, and breakfast offered different soy milks and a vegan croissant. The buffet also had a friendly, helpful guy serving us. The staff were extremely kind, both at reception and at breakfast. They chatted with us, shared tips and were always ready to help. The rooms are simple and small but perfectly fine, very clean and with a little balcony. The bathroom is quite small, though sufficient. The main town is a little way off, but there are two or three good restaurants nearby and the beach isn't far. Dogs are welcome too if you ask beforehand.

The complimentary breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of choice and a lovely dining room. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and we really enjoyed our three-night stay. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the service was exceptional. I had a wonderful experience here and would happily recommend it.

The hotel gave me exactly the cheerful beach atmosphere I wanted for my Italy trip, and the staff were warm and quick to help with any problem. Vera deserves a special thanks for her attention to detail. The food is great, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the amenities include a big swimming pool and a poolside bar. The restaurant has an excellent range of Italian and international dishes. Free parking was convenient, and the beach is very close. There are also at least three excellent restaurants within 150 meters. Thank you for making the vacation such a lovely memory. Keep it up, PFA Grand Hotel La Darsena!

The included breakfast was very good, with fresh fruit and juices, a nice range of cereal toppings and several kinds of croissants. The man at the restaurant was kind and helpful. Good value for the price, and I'd come back.
