There’s reliable, fast Wi-Fi at 30 mb/s, an on-site concierge, and free EV charging at 3X24A. My Tesla went from nearly empty to 90% in three hours. The residence is wheelchair friendly, with access to the pool and specific camera’s with easy access. Dogs are welcome, and there’s a dog toilet near the main entrance. The garden is large and Tuscan, with rosemary, thyme, and salvia. The tree with funny, fluffy skin and big peas is Glycine or Wisteria, very toxic and beautiful when it blooms. The grounds are green too, with over 30 solar panels and three 10 or 15 kW solar banks, 100% off grid. As an electronics engineer, I was pleasantly surprised to see an expert had professionally grounded all the metal parts, including doors and windows. That’s needed, but I haven’t seen it much in my travels abroad. We booked a week at Residence Mugello Tuscany, close to Florence in one of the better suburbs. When we arrived, we could choose between an apartment and a camera a room. The place includes a partly old 19th-century factory with 30x30cm wood structures and the renovated residence. Our apartment had a new shower, kitchen, fridge, TV, and electric cooking plate. What more do you need? Maybe a drying rack for clothes and a cappa aspirante to clear cooking air. There’s a small, reasonably cooled pool and a big modern Jacuzzi for four, with a great mountain view. A very large COOP supermarket is 10 minutes away, selling everything, even pots, pans, china, forks, and knives. We bought the Dolemite entrcote there, the best I’ve had, close to Wagyu. There’s also an on-site vending machine with chips, candy, cold soda, and beer, paid for with banknotes. Breakfast was good, with a strong doppio espresso. The town center is within walking distance, with a small supermarket and a Panini / Pizza / sandwich corner that also sells wine. They’re opposite the school triangle. Restaurant Rustico is about 500m, a seven-minute walk, and serves good traditional food. The residence is at the edge of town, so the open landscape is close if you like walking. Restaurant Limonaia and Villa Senti are very nice, with a great farview. The restaurant is 2.1 km away in a large garden with a swimming pool and a stunning entrance with Italian Cypers. The residence is close to the Italian 5km Mugello (F1) circuit, which was used when the main F1 circuit was ‘drowned’.
