The pools and saunas are great, and the place has a quiet, laid-back feel that makes it easy to unwind for a few days. What really stood out to me was dinner. The chef puts together flavors in a really balanced way. On the last night, the baked tomino with honey and pine nuts was a surprise, and it worked so well. We also had goulash with steamed pear and gooseberry jam, a combination I wouldn't have expected to enjoy so much. I'd absolutely go back, 10/10.

The cuisine was excellent, and the staff were kind and ready to help. The hotel has a beautiful view, while the wellness area feels magical, set on the wooded slope below the hotel.

The food is phenomenal, with a five or six course dinner every evening, and the sauna and lounging spaces are arranged across terraces with a lovely view. The hotel sits on the valley's south-facing side, a few hundred meters above Meran. The bus stop is just 30 meters away, and the gondola to the hiking area is about 300 meters from the property. South Tyrol really does feel like a place where everything is done to perfection.

Hotel Vardinserhof Verigud is a very good place to stay, with excellent food and very good service from the staff. The rooms are all good, the mountain scenery from the hotel is beautiful, and there are lots of facilities for children.

It's a shame photography isn't allowed. The castle is still lived in and very well maintained, but visits are limited to certain hours and can only be done with a guide. The tours are in German, though there's an audio guide you can listen to and follow along with.
