6/10
The owner was reasonably helpful, and the apartment was clean. It’s an older place a few hundred meters from the center of Sciacca, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. Street parking is tough, since people park on the sidewalk. There’s no refrigerator in the rooms, and only one room has air conditioning. Breakfast was fresh every day, though there were no savory choices. I think the value for money could be better.

The place is quiet and centrally located, and breakfast was good. He even made us pane cunzato to take away, which was nice. The facility itself is average. I stayed one night, and that was enough. In my first-floor room the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, or rather, we had to wait about twenty minutes between flushes. There was no window. I can only imagine how that would be on a woman’s “hottest” days, and there were two of us. When we mentioned it, Fulvio, the manager, said it wasn’t a big deal. Guests are paying for their stay, and their misfortunes shouldn’t be dismissed or belittled. No comment.

4/10
The breakfast was decent, and the owner was helpful. The building itself is old, though: only one of the two rooms had air conditioning, the shower stall was falling apart, the shutters didn’t work, and the fixtures were very old.

Finding parking was difficult, but the welcome was friendly. The suite was very spacious, with a lovely sea-view balcony and comfortable bedding. Breakfast was generous, too.

10/10
The breakfast was excellent, and the room where it’s served is beautifully furnished. Fulvio was friendly and helpful. The Art Nouveau atmosphere brings to mind a Leopard-esque past, and it’s well worth a visit.
