NH Milano 2 Hotel

A quiet, green area made it pleasant to walk around, and the airport is nearby, which worked well for our one-night stay before flying. Our room was generally clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a large, comfy bed, though it looked a little tired in places. The AC was noisy. Breakfast had enough for us, with fruit, pastries, yoghurt, sandwich items, and decent coffee, but not much hot food to choose from.

The next morning, the reception staff apologized when I explained what had happened and said they couldn't understand why the man had handled it that way. They offered me breakfast, but it didn't undo the feeling that I'd been taken for a fool. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I arrived around 1:00 AM, worn out after a long trip, without a reservation. Beforehand, several booking sites had shown rooms for no more than 150 to 170 euros. The man at reception said only one room was left and quoted 193 euros, with breakfast excluded. Since it was so late and I didn't really have another choice, I accepted. He didn't give me an invoice. Before going to sleep, I checked the booking sites again and saw more than five rooms still available. That made me feel he'd lied about availability to pressure me into paying an inflated rate. I went downstairs to ask him about it, but couldn't find him. The lack of clear pricing and transparency, the claim that only one room remained, and the missing invoice left a very bad impression.

The hotel feels run-down and broken, and it doesn't seem to have enough staff. Breakfast is the only time the restaurant service is good. At night, the service feels like a performance, and the food quality is a shame for Italy.

The rooms are dated, the beds uncomfortable, and you can easily hear other guests through the walls. Breakfast was well below average. Worst of all, there's a distinct smell of a dead body as soon as you enter the room. Avoid it if you can.
