Hotel Garni la Stua

Breakfast was a highlight: homemade cakes, warm croissants, and a great selection of ham, cheese and plenty more. We chose the hotel for a cycling holiday and couldn't have been happier. The staff were incredibly nice, the rooms were clean and regularly cleaned, and the views were stunning. Definitely recommend it.

Santa Fosca is ideally placed for cycling trips. We had an amazing week at la stua, and each morning the fantastic breakfast smell filled the place. One of the friendliest hosts I've ever met served it.

I've been coming back to Garni la Stua whenever I'm in the Dolomites, for about 18 years now. It's right by Civetta ski resort, making it a good choice for skiing in winter or hiking in summer. A lot has improved over the years, including the beds, TVs and Wi-Fi, plus a lovely sauna, but much of the hotel has stayed the same in the best nostalgic way. The owners take exceptional care of guests, from serving breakfast each morning to getting the rooms ready. Everything is spotless and has what you need for a comfortable stay. Even the way they make the beds stands out, in a good way, though that might sound odd. They're also always happy to suggest hikes and local restaurants. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to offer a little more variety at breakfast. Still, I keep coming back and am already looking forward to my next summer visit. There's so much to see outdoors, from a hike to Lago Coldai to scenic trips to Marmolada, Passo di Giau, Cortina and Arabba.

The owner and staff were super friendly, and breakfast was tasty. We had a great three-night stay and would happily stay here again for skiing. Our room was large and clean, with all the essentials like shampoo, soap and a shower cap, plus a lovely mountain view. Drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced. The hotel is close to Passo Giau, and we took several day trips, each about 1-1.5 hours one way, to popular Dolomites spots including Lago di Sorapis, Lago di Braies, Tre Cime and Misurina.
