Hotel Olympia

The hotel is old, but only a few steps from the beach. The railway runs on the other side. The rooms are cleaned, the lift is old, and the menu includes fish, though it's expensive.

We liked the pleasant spot by the sea for meals outside and the view. Sea-facing rooms get lovely sunrises, though the rooms at the rear are near the railway and may be noisy. Our room was comfortable, but the bathroom felt quite small, and we noticed stains on the sheets, so cleanliness could be better. The food is simple and not always especially suited to children. The staff were kind and ready to help, and we appreciated how warmly and devotedly the children's activities were run. For the price of the stay, though, we expected more care with the details and a higher standard of service overall.

Being right on the seafront made it easy to enjoy walks into the center, and there are free bikes if you want to get around that way. From June to September, the shuttle runs all day, reaching the train station in 10 minutes and then the center of Senigallia. We stayed half board with our family and dog during Ferragosto week, and could bring the dog onto the veranda at lunch and dinner. The food was excellent, with refined fish and meat dishes, and everyone on staff was very friendly. Rooms face either the sea, available by request for an extra fee, or the hillside.
