The view across the island and sea is lovely, and this is a nice little hotel. The owner is very nice and knows Ischia well, including how to get around. The rooms are basic. The nearby beach is a long way down and a tough climb back up, so if you want to stay close to the beach, look elsewhere. You still have to travel to reach the good beaches.

The food is excellent, and you can taste the garden produce in its flavors. After walking to the beach, I loved relaxing in the pool. The setting is simple and homely rather than impersonal, and the beautiful, calm cats were a treat for an animal lover like me. I stayed alone at Villa Mario and had a wonderful, restful time. It was quiet and peaceful, with a view of Sant'Angelo that never got old. What impressed me most was how helpful everyone was. Whatever I needed or wanted to ask, someone was ready with a smile. I felt comfortable and welcome from the first day. I'd recommend this place without hesitation.

The two pools were wonderful. The indoor one was at 45 degrees, and the outdoor thermal pool at 36/34 degrees. There's also a sauna, though I didn't get a chance to try it. The room was spacious and well kept, and the food was excellent and plentiful. It was a great place to unwind, even on cooler days, since the thermal water is always warm and a real blessing. Tiberio gave me a fantastic welcome and was so helpful, accommodating every request, even when I probably bothered him a bit too much. Highly recommend it, and I hope to return soon.
