Hotel Residence Sant'Angelo

The bus stop right outside and the pools made getting around and relaxing easy. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the sandwiches with homegrown tomatoes. The owners and their family were wonderful, and they helped me arrange a car rental for the day, which worked out really well. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

The bus stops on both sides of the road right outside, so you can get on before it fills up with people. The inn has lots of charm, and our room was clean and quiet at night. We loved the ocean and Sant’Angelo views, and breakfast was very good. Sanny was a great help with recommendations and getting around. He seems to know everyone in town, maybe even across the island. It's an authentic family-run place in a fantastic spot, and we'd definitely stay again. I agree with the recent reviews.

We mostly wanted to sit and read, so we didn't need help arranging tours, taxis, or reservations, though the hotel can set those up. The staff were kind and clearly care about their service, as does Pasquale’s, which felt local rather than touristy. Our double room had a private balcony, a fridge, reliable hot water, and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was the best I've had in years, with bread, pastries, fruit, spreads, flatbreads, bruschetta, juices, and as many cappuccinos as you like. They even let you take croissants to the beach. A stone path and stairs lead down to a small beach right beside the hotel. Getting back up is a workout, so we stayed there until we were ready to leave. There's a restaurant for lunch with fair prices, though seating is for people ordering fish plates. You can also take sandwiches, beer, and soft drinks onto the beach. Umbrellas and loungers cost 30 euros for two, less than at the other, busier beach. The hydro pool downstairs costs 5 euros per person to use the massage feature, and it was worth it. Upstairs there's a thermal pool at a comfortable temperature, plus sun beds and umbrellas like those on the beach. The bus stops directly outside and comes by often. Getting from the port takes 30-45 minutes, but the ride is easy and cheap. Most restaurants don't open for dinner until around 7. Pasquale’s pizzas were all fantastic and affordable, and the little convenience store at the far end of the beach sells cheap, tasty prosciutto caprese sandwiches all day. All the reviews saying this place is amazing were right.

It was so easy to reach the hotel, with the bus stopping right out front. The air conditioning kept our room nice and cold on a hot summer day, and the coffee was excellent. Breakfast came with homemade cakes from Sanny's father and fruit from his garden, all served with a gorgeous ocean view. There's a lovely little beach just below the hotel, reached by stairs. It wasn't too crowded, and you can spread out your towel or pay for chairs and an umbrella. Sanny, his father, and the young woman on staff were all so kind and helpful. They helped us sort out a rental car or scooter from the port, and gave us restaurant recommendations and reservations. They made us feel like family. We adore this hotel and the people who run it, and will definitely return when we're next in Ischia. Highly recommend!
