Villa Zelma

We had a wonderfully relaxing break at the beautiful hilltop Villa Zelma. Chiara, our welcoming hostess, gave us helpful ideas for day trips nearby. All in all, a great place.

A small, comfortable hotel with lovely people who really know how to look after guests. The staff are friendly, attentive, and involved, without putting on a fake attitude. Villa Zelma has reached the top of this category, though plenty of accommodations don’t meet these standards. We brought a friend who was recovering from a serious illness, and he and his wife could forget their troubles while staying here. That was thanks to the owner and staff. A great experience.

You get all the beauty of Tuscany without the crowds, along with great staff, rooms, meals, a pool, and a peaceful atmosphere.

The care from everyone at Villa Zelma is what I remember most. Alessandra cooked classic Tuscan food, while her husband Aldo and Licia were so kind and professional. We still miss you all. We were eight people across three generations, there for a week in late September 2021, and the stay became one of the most memorable and special trips of our lives. The rooms were few but very well equipped and spotless. We also loved the romantic gardens, the 360-degree views, the wine cellar, and especially the pool area. Villa Zelma worked beautifully as a base for a family trip to Tuscany’s many sights, and it’s only about a half-hour drive from Florence airport. It’s clearly among the top three places on my long list.
