Breakfast beneath the kiwi trees, with homemade cakes and marmalade, was lovely. Nicolo explained everything we needed to know for a great holiday in Sestri, and we loved our room and the quiet evenings watching stars from the terrace. We called Casa Olivieri “the Castle” for its beauty, old-fashioned building, and surrounding green hills. The pool is small but still enjoyable. Parking spaces are tight, though parking along the street is manageable. We loved it and want to come back. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

Our daughter felt at home, and we could properly relax together as a family. The pool was a welcome way to cool down after the beach or a day exploring. We spent our summer holiday at Agriturismo Casa Olivieri with our daughter and my partner, and loved the peaceful setting surrounded by nature, just a short drive from Sestri Levante’s beaches. Nicolò was welcoming and available throughout, with useful local tips. You can tell how much care and passion goes into the place. A quiet spot with Italian charm, close to both Sestri and Riva. The host was excellent and gave us all the explanations we needed, and the value for money was good. Volontieri una prossima volta, with a fridge for cold drinks.

We spent two weeks in the “superior” apartment with our dog. It had a separate section of the garden, a closed backyard, garden furniture, and was comfortable with the dog. But the “superior” label didn’t fit: it felt like a standard holiday flat. There wasn’t enough space for four people beyond a week, and the garden and house felt neglected, with dirty corners, broken furniture, a loveless interior, and rotten fruit in the garden. The dining area adjoins another holiday home’s garden. The deep stairs make it unsuitable for children, older people, or anyone with a disability. There was no kettle or toaster, the Wi-Fi was poor, there was no sea view, and we could hear the train. The apartment felt uncared for and was far too expensive for what it offered, below Airbnb quality. Service was almost nonexistent, apart from one change of bedding and towels; there was no way to clean the place during our two weeks. Be prepared to carry luggage up the hill through the garden for a while. Parking was tricky but manageable. It didn’t deserve its Booking.com points, perhaps they reflect earlier years. The service itself was nice.
