La Tavernola Agriturismo - Tenuta Mandia

The Alburni mountains look spectacular from this recently restyled agriturismo. Mariangela is a great cook, and we’d happily stay here again.

The owner is kind and attentive, with a real love for art and beauty. This is a unique, beautifully landscaped and well-organized place, surrounded by mountain nature but still well connected to Potenza and Salerno.

The food was a real pleasure, with fresh ingredients, local products, and dishes rooted in local tradition. You could taste the care and passion in each course. We came away from our days in the Alburni Mountains feeling relaxed and refreshed. La Tavernola - Tenuta Mandia farmhouse sits in a stunning landscape of mountains and forests, with a peacefulness that makes it easy to unwind. Mariangela, our host and friend, was professional and thoughtful about every detail. Her warmth made us feel at home right away, and she took care to meet all our needs. We left really disappointed and had expected more. We’d kept quiet at the time because we didn’t want to spoil the evening. The agreed €35 menu was supposed to include a buffet appetizer, a first course, a second course, dessert, water, wine, and coffee. The appetizer never came, the first course tasted smoky, the second was the only decent dish, and we never got to eat dessert. Even before the food, the room felt absurd: it was huge and looked nothing like a dining room, with only a small heater to warm it. Some of us had to keep our coats on all evening, even though the other room was lovely and had a huge fireplace. I’d give zero stars if that were possible.
