B&B Le Logge Luxury Rooms

We booked through the America Airlines vacation site. Be ready to carry all your bags up five flights of stairs, as there’s no lift. There’s no concierge either, and all communication is remote through WhatsApp. The listing showed a top-floor room with a view, but we were given a lower-floor room without one. It was okay, but it wasn’t what we booked. The property uses several different names for the same room types, which makes it confusing to know what you’re actually booking. When we complained, the owner’s wife gaslit us. Then the toilet flusher fell off the wall, and her husband came to our door. He knocked so hard that he broke the glass in it. I opened up to a very, very angry owner who seemed to be trying to intimidate me, though he looked dismayed that I was much bigger than him. He pointed at the broken glass in the entry door as though it were someone else’s fault. The entry door to the room next door also had broken glass. He came in and fixed the toilet flusher, then told me I’d been rude to his wife. I suggested he read our WhatsApp exchange. There had been no inappropriate language, and that was our only communication up to then. It was all in writing, so I had proof she wasn’t telling the truth about my behavior. It was a very ugly exchange, with the husband standing in the open doorway to our room, furious. He had a key to our room, and he wasn’t someone I wanted having access while my wife and I slept. My wife, who worked in the hotel business, heard the exchange from behind me and was terrified to stay the night. We hadn’t unpacked. He eventually left, and we booked a nearby hotel and went there instead. We contacted American Airlines Vacations, and they reached out to the proprietor for us, but the inn refused to refund us. I don’t think these people should be in hospitality. From his reply to this review, it seems he’s still trying to discredit and bully me. This was my third trip to Siena, and I’ve visited Italy on business almost 20 times. I’m a seasoned traveler, and I’ve never been treated this way before.

That steam shower is quite an experience, and the air conditioning worked so well I actually got cold at times. We only stayed one night, but it was a lovely, relaxing stop. The location made it easy to explore Sienna without going far from our base. There are lots of stairs up to the room, as the description says, though they’re manageable if you’re reasonably fit. The coffee machine was great too.

We had a good short stay in Siena, thanks in part to the great location. The owner was friendly and quick to respond. The room is on the top floor and there’s no elevator, but the owner makes that clear, and it didn’t bother us. The only downside for me was the patchy Wi-Fi, which made Netflix streaming unreliable.

Being right in the heart of Siena made it easy to get around the city, and the whole place seemed very well run. We had the top room, with spectacular views over Siena, and a wonderful breakfast. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy.
