Fonte Gaia Experience B&B

We only stayed one night and wished we’d booked longer. Mauricio was gracious and ready to help with anything. The room was clean and nicely designed, and the location made it easy to get around, about five minutes from the main square and ten from the cathedral. Such a great stay.

The owner was enthusiastic and very attentive, and gave us all the information we needed for Siena. The property is a short walk from the main sights, roughly 200-500 metres, and close to the Santa Caterina car park, where the owner can arrange a reduced rate of EUR25 per day. It’s in an old building on the second floor, so there are stairs. The place has been fully refurbished, with a nice mix of modern decor and original features. There are two guest rooms and a shared kitchen and dining area with two tables between them. You can hear cars from the street, even though it isn’t busy, and sound carries between the shared area and the rooms, which can feel a bit awkward. Still, it was close to perfect.

The hosts put so much thought and care into this property, and went out of their way for us. Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, the shower was amazing, and the bed was very comfortable. Our room felt cosy, and the bathroom had shampoo and body wash. The location was perfect, and we’ll definitely return.

We spent six nights here and couldn’t have been happier. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and having a small kitchen and dining area was a nice bonus. Every afternoon Allesandro brought over breakfast treats his girlfriend had baked and restocked anything we needed. He was a wonderful host from arrival to departure, and even arranged a fabulous birthday dinner for my husband at a great restaurant. I’d highly recommend the B&B.
