The view from my window was my favorite part of the whole trip. The owners were helpful, even though they weren’t there when I arrived, and using the amenities at their property near the campo was very convenient. The place is simple and sits at the edge of the old city, which was just what I wanted. Everything was clean and worked. There’s no AC, and the shower didn’t get very hot, but the weather was warm rather than hot while I was there.

My husband and I stayed one night at Sylvia B&B at this address, 1/3 Ettore Batistiani, Sienna. She has several places. Don’t go there. Sylvia had said she would be there when we arrived, but she wasn’t. Water was coming up through the floor, there was only one tiny towel in the bathroom, and the heater was fixed at 20°C. The room was so cold and damp that we had to sleep in our clothes. She didn’t come to help us change rooms, just said over the phone that there was another key in the mailbox. I chose the place without checking reviews because she said parking would be easy and free. There are two free parking areas, but they were always full. I had to push hard just to get directions to parking, and those came by phone. In the end, we paid 35 euros for parking. Breakfast was poor, with croissants in plastic wrappers. Even the kettle had no on-off switch, so you had to plug it into the wall and unplug it. We paid 75 euros, which isn’t cheap. She also asked us to go pay at her other place in the center. She only takes cash, no credit cards. She was rough with us and didn’t come meet her guests, only dealt with us by phone. Around midnight someone knocked on our door three times because he didn’t have the key to his room.

The room and price might have been fine, but the owner never told us that, as non-locals, we couldn’t drive through one of the areas on the way there. We got two penalty notices, about 93,60 € each, one when we arrived and another when we left. Finding out a year later made this an absolute no-go. Be careful so it doesn’t happen to you too!

A good, quiet place, though a little too far from downtown.
