We were comfortable during our stay, and the staff were all wonderful. From the top floor, our quaint room or suite opened onto a gorgeous, expansive view of Siena. The rooms have an old-fashioned look, perhaps intended to feel like a middle-class Renaissance interior, and the doors creaked, but neither bothered us. We could reach the landmarks, main sights, and shopping areas on foot in hardly any time. Breakfast is very simple, so don't expect much.

The reception guy was especially friendly, and most of the staff were too. The woman handling breakfast was rude, though. Breakfast itself was good, the WiFi worked fine, and the rooms had AC, with some also including living rooms. It's near the city center and plaza. My pillow was really uncomfortable.

The old town has historic buildings with some modern touches, and service was good. Everything I needed to reach on foot was within a 5 km radius. Keep in mind the town tax is 2 to 4 euro per person per night, payable in cash.

A year after our stay at this particular hotel, we learned that they hadn't registered our car for the limited traffic zone. That led to a traffic violation fine of 100 euro...

Everything was old and broken, and the bed was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep all night. A horrible place. I wouldn't recommend staying here even to my enemy.
