Palace Hotel Due Ponti

The staff were all kind and helpful, and we could park across the street because the hotel’s own lot was tiny. Our room faced the back, though, where the view was a large container full of trash. A front facing room might be noisy because of traffic. We were there in April 2025, while renovations were going on inside. I think we got one of the refurbished rooms, and it looked quite new. The mattress was perfect, and we woke up rested every morning. The child’s third bed was a full size bed too. The new bathroom had a toilet with a temperature adjustable bidet spray, which was nice, but there wasn’t enough space beside the sink for toiletries and nowhere to put the toilet paper. The room needed heat. They heated it for the first two days of our five day stay, then stopped, though they did give us a space heater. Breakfast was the same each morning, fine for a couple of days but boring after that. There wasn’t a big selection, and only one of the toaster’s three heating wires worked, so we had to turn the bread over to toast it properly. **Update:** In response to the facility’s reply, I really don’t know what you’re talking about. We stayed at your hotel once, in April 2025, and never before. After seeing your response, we won’t return. Breakfast was included in the price, and we only ate and drank in the mornings, so what extras are you saying we didn’t pay for? We followed all the facility’s rules, including the rule about not taking sandwiches out.

The room felt very dated and clearly needed renovation, and the sound carried badly between rooms, so I heard quite a bit of noise from other guests. For one night it was fine, but I wouldn’t pick this hotel for a longer visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, and it’s about a 10-15 minute drive from the historic center of Siena.

We were a group of 36 and spent a week here. The rooms had recently been renovated and looked lovely. Everything was cleaned and tidied each day, with fresh towels, and the staff were just as friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful; when something ran out, it was brought out again. Dinner was excellent, better than what we’ve had at many other hotels in Italy. A few more clothes hangers and a second chair in the rooms would have helped, since there was only one chair. The hotel is a bit farther from Siena’s gates than the website description led us to expect. Still, the S5 bus stops across from the hotel and made it easy to get there quickly.

The restaurant service stood out. Chef Antonio made amazing meals, and Max was professional and welcoming. Thanks as well to Giusy, Arianna and Michelle at the front desk. We were traveling with a large group, and they were accommodating and kept things running smoothly. The hotel is beautiful, the modern rooms are comfortable and clean, and there’s a bus stop right beside it for an easy ride of about ten minutes into town. A great place to stay!
