Hotel il Palio was recently renovated, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. The room was spacious and elegantly furnished, and the staff were very knowledgeable. Breakfast was excellent, with both sweet and savory options. They also offer free parking. It’s on Siena’s Piazza del Sale, with a bus stop nearby and Piazza del Campo just a five-minute walk away, making it an ideal base for visiting the city. Highly recommended.

The receptionist was courteous, and that’s the only reason I’m giving one star. The rooms are run-down and weren’t cleaned at all. I really wouldn’t recommend it.

The beds were awful, and the place was extremely noisy. Whenever a bus went by, the doors would shake. The walls and ceilings were moldy and damaged, and the doors were broken too. A terrible experience. It doesn’t seem to have been renovated in ages. Highly not recommended.

A place fit for the worst hovels.
