We had a fantastic stay, and the local food was fresh and delicious. Simonetta is an incredible cook, while Eduardo shared some great hikes and knows the trails around there well. Their place near Camigliatello Silano, tucked into the mountains, was a wonderful find. They made us feel like part of the family and were lovely hosts. One of my best stays in Italy.

The rooms were spotless and lovely, and the rifugio itself felt very cosy. Simonetta made us amazing meals using fresh, local, organic ingredients, and Eduardo suggested some great hikes nearby. The hosts were wonderful and went out of their way to help. We’d definitely recommend Casello Margherita for a taste of warm Sila hospitality.

The dinner was outstanding, and the hosts gave us useful tips for hikes and places to see in Sila. It’s a beautiful Rifugio with a familiar, welcoming feel. Also a good option if you don’t speak Italian, since the hosts speak English too.

We’ve been returning for years because it’s such a quiet, beautiful spot. It’s tucked away, but you get mountain views, great food, and the sea is only about an hour away. A lovely place to unwind and enjoy the warmth of southern Italy.
