Hotel Florida

Nice place and good service, but the air is much too cold.

Getting to the beach is as easy as crossing the road, and the hotel price includes an umbrella, two loungers, and a director’s chair. The umbrellas aren’t crowded together, the water is clean, and there’s plenty of shoreline for long walks. What’s missing there are basic facilities: no shower, foot rinse, toilet, or changing cabins, though you can use a shower at a nearby beach. The hotel is family-run, with friendly staff who are happy to answer questions or help with requests about the area. There’s private parking close by, and Silvi Marina’s center is about a 10-minute walk away. With the beach so close, it seems especially handy for families with small children. My room was clean and comfortable, though on the small side. It had a TV, air conditioning, hairdryer, and a little terrace, and the towels were changed regularly. The food was very good and mostly seafood. The kitchen staff sometimes checked whether we wanted more, and the local wines were good and fairly priced. I did miss having a vegetable buffet.

The main drawback for me was the freight trains, which are very noisy at night. Apart from that, this is a low-key, welcoming hotel with a family feel, right by the beach. The beach service includes an umbrella, loungers, and a director’s chair, and there’s a play area for little kids. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with a decent amount of outdoor space, though they’re small. The meals are good, but the menu choices are limited. It’s a great fit if you’re not expecting anything fancy.

We were disappointed by both the food and the room. The place left a bad impression as soon as we arrived, and we should have left right then. It’s called a hotel, but to us it felt more like a guesthouse, and the whole property was deeply disappointing. The price felt exorbitant. Maybe the positive reviews come from people who were misled or haven’t stayed at more suitable hotels, but we won’t go back, even if it were free.
