Hotel Tuo Mare

We spent two nights here with our family, my wife and our daughters aged 8 and 16. The room felt like it hadn’t changed since the 1970s or 80s, though at least it had air conditioning. Wi-Fi barely worked and only connected near the entrance. The solid iron bunk beds felt dangerous to climb into or out of, with very little space between the lower and upper bunks. The TV did work, but housekeeping was inconsistent and breakfast was very poor. The coffee and cappuccino were awful. My daughter’s orange juice seemed diluted with sparkling water and was undrinkable, and the same thing happened to the still water for the Ace juice. A family staying with us chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel. I’d been told there were gluten-free options for my daughter, who has celiac disease. What we found was one tray with a few cookies left open beside gluten-containing food, so they were clearly at risk of contamination. A handwritten label said “Gluten-free cookies.” We raised the issue with the owners and got no response. The next day the cookies were covered with a napkin, which was embarrassing. There’s no parking, not even a place reserved for loading and unloading. The three spaces there are almost always taken, so you have to stop on the street and hope you can get your luggage in or out in time. Nobody helped us with that. There’s no stair lift for disabled guests, either. My daughter also left behind a stuffed animal she’d had for years. We called three times, but the owner never got back to us or even checked with housekeeping. I was ready to pay for a courier pickup, but the owner wouldn’t answer me. Never again.
