Onda Hotel

The beach and supermarket are nearby, and the rooms are spacious and very affordable. There’s a decent mini fridge and a small television. Air conditioning helps make the nights cooler, but it’s worthless during the day. Amenities are limited: no laundry or gym, and the closest ATM is about 2km away. The elevator scares me; its rope sounds like it could snap in less then a decade. Getting around is somewhat difficult unless you’re an avid hiker or can afford taxis every day. I’d say stay up to 4 nights, but no longer, since there’s very little to see around the area. Edit 26 Jun 2017: Sleeping in turned out to be difficult. Trains start rumning at 4 AM on the tracks right in front of the hotel, and pass every 20 minutes. We were put between two rooms with crying infants, and the walls are paper thin. At 6 in the morning, crows tried tapping their way in through our windows. They were vicious. None of that changed my rating, but future patrons should know about it.

Really pleasant, friendly place.

The beach is clean, with fine golden sand, and it's only a short walk away. Getting there is a little awkward, though, since you have to cross both the road and the railway tracks through an underpass. There are also a shopping center and Action nearby. The hotel is old, but it works and is clean. Food quality is average. Breakfast doesn't offer much variety, while lunch comes with two choices for each course and plenty of buffet appetizers. The nearby tracks can be heard at night.
