The pasta class Denise led became one of our happiest trip memories. It was hands-on, fun, and charmingly educational, and she made everyone feel included while we learned and ate. Dinner was another standout, with local ingredients and cooking that had us looking around the table in amazement. We expect to talk about that meal for years. Denise and her staff made the whole stay at Castello di Sinio feel warm and personal. They anticipated our needs, arranged thoughtful recommendations, reservations, and daily itineraries, and made everything flow easily. It was both relaxing and carefully planned. The hospitality, expertise, and passion here are rare, and we're already dreaming about coming back.

Denise and the staff were so hospitable and took care of every detail to make our stay special. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and some of Denise's meals were among the best we had during our three weeks touring Italy. The restored castle is beautiful, with amazing bedrooms that made us feel like royalty. We can't wait to visit again.

The Barolo villages were lovely to tour, and we enjoyed tasting wine and eating at other restaurants. But I wouldn't rush back to the hotel or recommend it based on this stay. After two nights at the Castello, the hotel emailed to ask about my experience. I replied and never heard back, which is why I'm posting now. If the hotel wants to attract luxury guests for stays longer than one night, I think it needs investment and a more welcoming attitude. The signs at the main gate say no arrivals before 2 pm and no outside visitors. On departure day, using the pool after 2 pm also costs extra. The garden is beautiful, but the tables were left bare with no cushions, so it looked less inviting than it could. The pool chairs are uncomfortable and should have cushions put out each day. It would also help to offer lunch and dinner menus. People seem willing to drive up to 30 minutes to other restaurants, but not to eat at the hotel, and the hotel should ask itself why. In the bedroom, we had to ask for a mattress topper and decent feather pillows to sleep comfortably. The bathrooms, especially the showers, need some updating, though at least there was plenty of hot water. I don't know if the air conditioning works. We were lucky to sleep with the windows open, but if it doesn't work, nights could be miserable. The reception furniture is so large that it is hard to sit around without putting your feet on the coffee table, and the kitchen door should be kept closed so people aren't looking straight into the kitchen. With 10% more effort, perhaps the hotel could be 50% better. It's a shame, because this is a very pretty part of Italy.

We had a lovely time driving around the Barolo region, taking in the views, vineyards, and small towns. Denise and her fantastic team helped us find our way, suggested places to visit, and arranged restaurant bookings and wine tastings. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home. The hotel is stunning, with spacious, clean rooms and a fantastic restaurant. Breakfast was good quality, though I'd suggest making it a little more interesting with some more regional products. I'll leave the other details for you to discover yourself.

From arrival to the end of the stay, the staff treated us like family. Their warmth and attention to the little things made this one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've had. Hotel Castello di Sinio was unforgettable, and I can't recommend it enough. It really feels like a home away from home.
