Happy Camp in Selema Camping

The constant sewage smell was awful, and it came from beneath all three mobile homes we booked, not just ours. Happy Camp sits at the far end of the SÉLÉMA campsite, and getting there means walking across the whole site. Cars are forbidden there; otherwise they keep your deposit and have the vehicle towed. Meanwhile, SÉLÉMA campers could leave their cars on site, so we felt like outcasts. We were told we'd be staying in the shade of the pine forest, but Happy Camp is out in full sun. The ground around the mobile homes was barely prepared, with rubble, dirt and debris, and so uneven that even a deckchair wouldn't sit properly. When it was windy, we had to eat inside instead of on the terrace. Air conditioning cost an extra €70 for two weeks. The accommodation itself was adequate but dated, with very little crockery. You could rent bed linen on site. Frequent power cuts meant we had to throw out food from the fridge. For the pool, you need to bring your own swimming cap and wear a wristband. Such a disappointing holiday for the price.

The campsite was lovely, and Marianna and her family made us feel very welcome with their kind, courteous manner. They were always available. Our mobile home was spotless and came with a microwave and a large gas barbecue outside. There was just a little seagrass, which should be cleared away soon. I recommend it!
