We had a great vacation here. If you're looking for a peaceful, nature-based campsite without much luxury, it's a good place for the price, and the pizzas are great and well priced. The good part of the camping has houses, bungalow tents and wooden chalets. Our six-person chalet was basic but clean, with a large freezer and a kitchen that worked well for making dinner. Trash was collected every day. In the mornings the animation team picked up the children for activities, and there was often evening entertainment for adults, like karaoke and disco. There are lots of great beach options. A five-minute drive gets you to white sand and a swim. The campsite also has a rocky beach where we and the kids enjoyed looking at the little fish and shells, though you can't swim there. Some things could be better. The pool is okay but needs renovation, and the camping store is very minimal. A bread service for ordering fresh bread in the morning would be a good idea. They say there are BBQ facilities, but there's no iron rack to put meat over the fire. They searched everywhere with us, but couldn't find one. The information when we arrived could have been better. We were sent to the most expensive supermarket instead of the cheaper MD, which could have saved us a lot in those first few days. A flyer listing sports activities and an evening entertainment schedule would also help. My rating is based on the good section of the camping. The other part is a mess and in very poor condition.

We've been coming to la ‘Calapinetta’ camping for five years in a row, and my wife, daughter and I love it. For the money, it's among the best value in the region, whether for accommodation, food or organized trips. There are plusher resorts, but I've found them more restrictive and complicated, especially about things like BBQs. Here, things are fairly laid back. There are lots of activities run by the camping, including mountain biking, canoeing, trips to famous beaches, gorges and national parks. It has direct sea access, though no private beach. Trails lead to sandy beaches 1-2 km away, and there are wilder pebbly beaches right beside the site, which I prefer. By car, an average 15-minute drive gets you to another 7-8 beaches. Mornings are nice for a run or a walk, both popular with other campers, and there are Yoga classes too. The activities for younger kids stand out. The holiday crowd has traditionally included Dutch, German and Italian visitors, and they all get along really well. The swimming pools are more for dipping than for swimmers wanting to train. My one reservation is the many old roulottes owned by ‘senior’ Italians. They're frankly well past their due date, and I don't find them very attractive, though some may see them as part of the traditional charm. Still, the sea is right there, which is what Sardinia should be about. I'm picky and usually choose somewhere different when I travel, but la Calapinetta is one of only two places I've made an exception for. We return every year. Set among the pine trees along a beautiful stretch of coast, I haven't found another resort with a better mix of price, location, amenities and easygoing feel. I couldn't recommend it more.

A great campsite at a good high-season price, with one of the most beautiful beaches around and very nice staff. The toilets are okay, though they could be cleaner, and I wished there were more trash cans close to the tent area. I'd definitely recommend this camp!

We pulled in to find a spot for our camper, but it felt like a graveyard of campers. I didn't check out any facilities because the place spooked me, so we left. We stopped at Cala Grinpro, which is absolutely beautiful, and we're still here!
