BARBARA Classy Apartments 103

I stayed at BARBARA Classy Apartments twice, in two different apartments, and both were new, spotless, and equipped with the comforts we needed. The owners are delightful, and the welcome was excellent. They kindly let us leave our luggage for free until check-in. Barbara also left coffee, biscuits, and herbal teas for breakfast, even though it wasn't included. A washing machine was available for a small extra fee. The location on Corso Gelone is very convenient for Syracuse's attractions and the surrounding area. There are affordable places to eat well nearby, and a supermarket, shops, and the bus stop are across the street. The Archaeological Park, Tomb of Archimedes, Archimede Technology Park, and Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum are around 10-15 minutes away on foot or three minutes by car. The Sanctuary of the Madonna delle lacrime and the Sanctuary of Santa Lucia al Sepolcro are also nearby. The latter was built where the Syracusan saint was martyred in 304 and houses Caravaggio's painting The Burial of Saint Lucy. The Syracuse Forum is under 300 meters away, about a four-minute walk, and Sais buses leave from there for Ortigia in a few minutes. Route 106 tickets could also be bought on the Sais website, with prices listed as of January 2025: €3 for one day, €7 for three days, €1.50 for 90 minutes, or €1.20 for a single ride. Catania and other nearby places can be visited by bus or train; the station is 600 meters away, less than a 10-minute walk. If you're driving, the Gelone car park is open 24 hours and sits directly in front of the apartments, 150 meters away. The price felt fair for the location and quality. I highly recommend BARBARA Classy Apartments to travelers. The host, location, and standard were excellent. Five stars.

Barbara made my mom and me feel at home, looking after us from check-in through check-out. The room was lovely and had everything we needed, from a kitchen and refrigerator to scented sheets, coffee, and tea. You can see the care and passion she puts into her work in all the thoughtful little details. It was a dream stay, and we'll definitely come back. Highly recommended! Barbara was so kind and helpful, with suggestions for nearby sights and places to visit. The apartment is welcoming, charming, and just steps from Ortigia, with thoughtful details throughout. The hot tub made it a lovely place to unwind. We also appreciated the ice cream in the freezer, breakfast croissants, and sweets.

Barbara is a special, attentive host. The modern place is around a 15-minute walk from Ortigia. I recommend it.
