The room lamps were covered in mold, which felt unpleasant and concerning from a hygiene perspective. Breakfast was disappointing too: we were given paper cups instead of proper glass ones. I understand the high turnover can be challenging, but paper cups don’t meet what I expect at a 4-star hotel. We’ve stayed at Eureka Hotel before, when it was a reliable choice with higher standards. Each visit since then has felt like another star has slipped away. Even small comforts have disappeared, with no bed slippers in the room or pool slippers at the pool anymore. The hotel has let its standards drop significantly and no longer provides the quality I’d expect from a 4-star property.

The bed was comfy, but the TV was very small, and the shower was awkward and a little dangerous to get in and out of because of its swivel glass door. Kids were running up and down the hallways, so families with children should be on their own floor. We couldn’t relax after a day at the beach. At night, there’s not much to do beyond dinner. I wish there were a night bar. Check-in isn’t allowed before 3 pm, with no exceptions, and checkout is at 11. You can stay at the outdoor pool after checkout, but it still feels like losing the day. I’d suggest an earlier checkout so staff can clean sooner and guests can arrive earlier. I felt rushed for my money. I’d definitely go back when the race track is up and running.

The hotel has a swimming pool, and the room was clean. Breakfast was fine, especially the sweet items and fruit, though the savory selection could be better. If you enjoy peace and quiet, I’d recommend going when there aren’t any horse races scheduled.

We were upset and appalled by Valentina’s attitude when we checked out. She got defensive and angry, insisting that it was our responsibility to know what we had booked, and didn’t apologize for the staff member’s mistake. She showed us the receipt in Italian as proof of half board, but we had confirmed that with the staff member at check-in and were told we had only breakfast. Our booking agency hadn’t explained what half board included, either. When we arrived on Friday, 22 Aug, a staff member checked us in and said we had bed and breakfast, with breakfast only on the third floor. I told her our booking was for half board. She checked and still said it was breakfast only, so we went out for dinner. The following night, while we waited for a taxi, another staff member asked if we knew dinner was covered in our booking. All four of us were confused after being told at check-in that breakfast was the only meal included. We had no way of knowing what was covered, and Valentina kept insisting we were wrong. I wouldn’t recommend Eureka Palace and Hotel Resort.
