Best €15 I spent in Siracusa! We had such a fun day out on the water, following the beautiful coast and going into three sea caves before finishing by passing under the bridge. A surprise delight. The captain was great at handling the boat and maneuvered in and out of the caves without trouble, even turning around inside one. He didn't speak English, but he was very friendly.

We paid €70 for two tickets for the two-hour boat trip in late September. As non-Italians, we found the captain's commentary hard to follow since he spoke only Italian and explained the sights to the Italian guests. The English audio guide was very basic and had quite a few errors. We were promised two swim stops but got one. Water or prosecco and a small serving of fruit were included. The best part was getting close to several grottos. It was beautiful to see the captain skillfully steer the boat inside them. We came mainly to see the town from the water, visit a few grottos, and swim in the clear sea, rather than for the commentary, so we weren't disappointed.

The cruise was wonderful, and the views of Ortigia from the boat out at sea were the best way to see it. We were thrilled to get close to the rocks and see their many shapes. Erik, Stef, Demetra, and Luca were so welcoming and the service was perfect. We're very grateful to Ortigia Mare Escursioni for giving us such an unforgettable memory.

Seeing Siracusa from the sea is a must, the views were spectacular! I had an absolutely amazing time on the boat trip and would recommend it without hesitation. I'd happily go again. Special thanks to Stefani. Sorry we were in a rush and couldn't thank you in person.

Set aside a full day for Syracuse. Eat at the old town market, wander around the old town, then head out to sea by boat. It's a lovely day!
