The room was spacious and very nice, which was the only thing I appreciated about this B&B. I paid by bank transfer and sent the receipt on WhatsApp, but even after several calls I never got a booking confirmation. The daily cleaning was superficial, and breakfast fell short: one croissant each, with the rest being packaged commercial products. On our last day we skipped it and went to a bar for a proper Sicilian breakfast. Getting there was a struggle in the heat. It’s near the cathedral, about a ten-minute walk from the paid parking lot, and hauling two big suitcases and backpacks over that distance in the hottest months is a real slog. They told us over the phone that bags could be unloaded near the property, but it wasn’t easy to figure out if you don’t know the area. The property is on the third floor and there’s no elevator. At night the stair entrance was dark, so I had to use my phone light to find the switch. They recommended the Talete parking lot because the closest one is poorly managed. The ticket machines there were almost always out of order, and there’s no toll-free number to call if you can’t get a ticket. I’m Sicilian, and I think people coming to Sicily should feel welcomed by local services as well as by people’s manners.
The balcony view over the whole square was beautiful, and the property is right in the center of the Duomo. My room was huge and had a nice bathroom; I was there with my family, and they had nice rooms too. If you can, I’d suggest choosing one with a balcony over the square. Breakfast had both sweet and savory options and was excellent. The owner and the woman serving breakfast were incredibly kind. It was a pleasure, and I’ll definitely come back. Anna
Breakfast was generous and varied, and they were thoughtful about the common needs of people with lactose intolerance. We were welcomed last Friday with so much care and kindness, and left this morning. Our room was bright, lovely, spacious, and super clean, with an incredibly comfortable bed. The shower was open, like in "50 Shades of Grey." 10 out of 10, thank you!
We loved the fresh, plentiful breakfast in the little open-air courtyard, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The B&B is elegant and lovely, set in the most beautiful square in Syracuse. Its rooms are new, with simple but elegant furnishings.
