Parking was easy to find nearby, and the apartment is conveniently located for the archaeological park, about 1.4 km from Ortigia. There are also several places to eat close by if you don’t want to go far. But the neighborhood is in pretty poor shape. Inside, the kitchen and the rest of the apartment have the amenities you’d expect, but I felt the place needed maintenance. The armored front door wouldn’t lock from the inside, and its interior panel was loose. Only the living room air conditioner worked, though luckily it was enough to cool the whole apartment. Breakfast was Italian style, with biscuits, milk, juice, toast, and coffee. The owner was helpful, and I think he’d be willing to provide something different if asked. The bigger issue for me was the cleaning, which felt very inadequate and really hurt the quality of the stay. The bathroom hairdryer had a broken button and had to be unplugged to switch it off. The shower water was difficult to adjust, so it was either cold or scalding. For all these reasons, especially the cleanliness, I wasn’t satisfied at all.
