I've travelled for years across different continents and stayed in all kinds of places, from the humblest to the most comfortable. I've never ended up in a dirtier apartment than the one offered by wonderful Italy in Syracuse, Ortigia. I paid more than €150 per night for a dirty apartment with broken air conditioning that leaked and didn't cool the room. The bed pillows had brown dirt stains, and the towels had yellow stains. When I called customer service, I was told they'd closed for the day. I had to pay for a night somewhere else, and they refunded only 50% of the night I didn't use. Their incompetence was the worst possible start to a holiday. The next day, when they moved us out, the boy who checked us in said the previous apartment was a scam: the photos show a different apartment because there are 3 similar ones, and they assign one based on what's available. Never again!

Valeria was a huge help, answering our questions and sharing useful local knowledge about the stay. She even got us checked in at noon, though our check-in was meant to be at 3pm. The apartment was cozy and had everything we needed, with the central bus station nearby and Ortigia about a 10-minute walk away. Good value for the money!

We waited on the sidewalk outside for an hour, but nobody came to let us into the apartment. They stopped replying on Whatsapp and ignored our calls, so we had to book somewhere else. This place is a scam!

The rooms were great for the price, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend it!

We were left waiting outside in the hot weather after being ignored on arrival. Later that evening, they sent a suspicious message with a link to pay taxes and complete online check-in, even though we had already paid everything and Agoda had refunded us. I wish I’d checked the reviews here first. This is totally a scam, avoid it. We couldn’t even leave a review on Agoda.
