villa Bismarkia

We loved the peace and privacy at Bismarkia. There are several accommodations on the property, but we hardly saw or heard other guests, apart from the occasional moment by the pool. The owners were very welcoming, and our room was lovely with great air conditioning, though it stayed cool enough that we barely used it. The garden is beautiful, and the pool and jacuzzi are excellent. We could use them whenever we wanted, even late at night. Panificio Arenella / Caffè Arenella is close by and was a great find for pizza and sweets. Syracuse is about 25 minutes away, and we liked its atmosphere much more than Taormina. Marzamemi, a charming fishing village, is around an hour away and well worth a visit. Casibille Beach is just 15 minutes away, with clear turquoise water, playful waves, and cliffs you can jump from. One thing to keep in mind: driving back after dark, we'd have found the property nearly impossible to locate without GPS. We highly recommend the place.

The apartment was nice, and the pool sits in a beautiful garden filled with palms. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Even two weeks later, we're still picturing dinner and Italian wine on the balcony while the kids splashed in the pool in the evening sun. Birds crossed the sky as it shifted through red, orange, purple, and crimson, and I can still smell the Mediterranean sea. Villa Bismarkia was comfortable and well set up for self-catering. Roberto and his son Erick were welcoming and generous with their time, always just a shout away. From the entrance gates, the drive opens up ahead, leading to a striking panoramic garden. Palms, olive trees, almonds, and figs are planted across the backdrop of the hot, dry, breezy Italian landscape.

Everything went smoothly, from booking to check-in and check-out. The atmosphere was relaxed, there were no silly rules, and the whole place was great. I'd really recommend it.
