Il Nido del Cigno

The terrace was a highlight, with rooftops below and distant lake views on both sides of the town. It’s right in the old town, and the place was very clean. Nothing luxurious, but it’s an affordable way to soak up Sirmione’s atmosphere.

You get a lovely view from the big terrace, including the castle tower, and dining up there is quite a feeling. The apartment itself is on the third floor of a 1960s-style building, with no lift, in Sirmione’s historic center. The climb may seem awkward at first. The bathroom and kitchen feel dated, but both were clean, tidy, and worked fine. The kitchen has what you need for cleaning up. The woman who runs the place is very kind, usually at her nearby shop and always reachable by phone.

Even with the center lively at night, we could shut all the windows, and there are two air conditioners. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, with everything we needed and maybe a little extra. The furniture was new or well looked after, and the owner was friendly and helpful. It’s right in the historic center.

That night was a nightmare. We were on the third floor and kept the air conditioning running all day, but the room was like a sauna when we came back. We couldn’t open the windows because insects had got into the room even though everything was shut. The one good thing about the trip was the very kind lady. I’m sorry.
